TOMORROW FOUNDATION SPONSORS THE JA GHANA HIGH SCHOOL DELEGATION TO COP28

COP28 Particpants

JA Ghana is eagerly gearing up to participate in the upcoming global event, COP28, which is poised to bring together industry leaders, innovators, and experts from around the world. JA Ghana is thrilled to represent the country at this prestigious international summit, which aims to provide an opportunity for the world to take stock of its progress on the Paris Agreement.

The Conference of the Parties (COP) is an annual international summit under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), where 197 countries and the European Union come together to discuss and find ways to limit emissions and halt global warming. This year, COP28 will take place at Expo City in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), from 30 November to 12 December 2023, and it is considered one of the world’s highest decision-making bodies on climate issues.

JA Ghana, represented by a delegation of high school entrepreneurs, will participate in the Blue Zone, which is managed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The Blue Zone is accessible only to accredited parties like country negotiators, observer delegates (including NGOs, IGOs, and UN agencies), media, and world leaders. During the two weeks of the conference, the Blue Zone will host formal negotiations and hundreds of official side events, including panel discussions, speaking engagements, and cultural festivities.

With sponsorship from the Tomorrow Foundation, JA Ghana is expecting to play a pivotal role at COP28 with planned presentations from its student entrepreneurs. The event promises to be unique and exciting, with students from Tarkwa Senior High School, Presbyterian Boys Secondary Legon, and Legacy Girls College showcasing their innovative solutions and actions addressing climate change. Attendees can look forward to experiencing firsthand the creativity and ingenuity of these young entrepreneurs as they address health and agricultural challenges in the fight against climate change.

We invite stakeholders, partners, and industry professionals to stay tuned for updates and announcements leading up to CO28. For real-time insights into JA Ghana’s participation, follow us on social media and visit www.jaghana.org
